Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle. Once you're settled at the hotel, we will schedule a trip briefing at the hotel lobby or restaurant.
Early in the morning, you will take a public bus from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule via Besisahar. From Bhulbhule, you will transfer to a shared jeep for the journey to Dharapani. Along the way, you’ll be amazed by beautiful waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and numerous suspension bridges. Traveling alongside the Marsyangdi River, you’ll pass through picturesque villages such as Ngadi, Bahundanda, Syange, Jagat, Chamje, and Tal before reaching Dharapani. Upon arrival, you must register your details and trekking permits at the police checkpoint.
Today, your Annapurna Circuit Trek leads you into alpine territory, where the weather becomes noticeably colder. Passing through woodlands, you’ll reach the Tibetan settlements of Bagarchhap and Danakyu. Along the way, enjoy views of pine forests, farmland, apple orchards, and stunning sights of Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks. Continuing through the charming villages of Timang, Thanchowk, and Koto—where the Naar-Phu trail meets the Annapurna Circuit—you will arrive at Chame. A large mani wall with prayer wheels marks the village entrance. As the district headquarters of Manang, Chame offers modern amenities including quality hotels, internet cafés, gear shops, banks, communication centers, and healthcare services.
The trail from Chame winds through a beautiful pine and rhododendron forest in a narrow, rocky valley. After crossing the Marshyangdi River on a suspension bridge, the path climbs, offering breathtaking views of rocky cliffs like Pangdi Danda and Swargadwari Danda. Continuing along the Annapurna Circuit Trek, you’ll pass through the villages of Talekhu and Bhratang before reaching Dhikur Pokhari. From there, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, Chulu Peak, Tilicho Peak, and more. After crossing another suspension bridge, the trail leads to Upper Pisang, which offers stunning views of Kuntu Danda, Longyo Danda, and Pisang Peak. Due to the higher elevation, some trekkers may experience shortness of breath.
Today is a vital rest day for acclimatization before tackling higher elevations and crossing Thorung La Pass. According to your Annapurna Circuit Trek itinerary, you'll use this day to adjust by taking a short hike to Gangapurna Lake and its surroundings. Although the trail is rocky and scattered with small debris, the breathtaking scenery makes it worthwhile. The serene Gangapurna Lake, fed by melting glaciers, is surrounded by majestic peaks and rugged hills, offering views of Mt. Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang, Glacier Dome, and Annapurna.
For those seeking more adventure, optional side hikes to Ice Lake and Base Camp are available, providing stunning views of Chulu Peak, Tilicho, and Annapurna III.
From Manang, the Annapurna Circuit route ascends to the village of Tengi, crosses a spring, and climbs out of the Marshyangdi Valley, turning northwest into the Jarsang Khola Valley. The trail gradually gains altitude, passing through meadows and juniper scrub. Near the small settlement of Ghusang, marked by mud-roofed houses, the path continues through yak and horse grazing areas known as Yak Kharka. After crossing a small river via a wooden bridge and passing an old Mani wall in a quiet meadow, you will reach the scenic village of Ledar.
Today, you will trek to Thorung Phedi, also known as Thorung High Camp. Depending on your fitness level and weather conditions, it will take 4 to 5 hours. The higher altitude and strong winds make this section more challenging, and snow can significantly slow your progress. Follow your guide carefully and pace yourself. Along the way, you may spot herds of yaks and blue sheep across the river. Thorung Phedi has limited tea houses, and the barren, rocky landscape here contrasts sharply with the lush lowlands you passed earlier. If you still have energy, trekking up to High Camp will make the next day's ascent easier.
From Thorung Phedi or High Camp, a steep ascent leads you to Thorung La Pass at 5,416 meters. From the top, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna Range, Thorong Peak, the Dhaulagiri Range, Nilgiri, and other distant mountains. After taking in the scenery and snapping a few photos, you’ll descend continuously toward Muktinath.
Muktinath is both an important Buddhist site and the second-largest Hindu temple, attracting many Hindu pilgrims. It features two sacred ponds and 108 water spouts, where Hindus believe bathing cleanses sins from past lives. Nearby, at Dhola Mebar Gompa (also known as the Jwalamai Temple), a natural gas flame burns above a spring — a revered sight.
After visiting Muktinath Temple, return to your lodge for breakfast before continuing to Jomsom via Jharkot Village, Kagbeni, and Ekle Bhatti. Jomsom, the administrative center of the Mustang District, is known as one of Nepal’s windiest valleys.
Jomsom, a major town straddling both sides of the Kali Gandaki River, serves as a key transition point for treks to Muktinath and Upper Mustang. It is home to a Nepalese Army base and an airport that handles regular flights to Pokhara, including military aircraft.
This morning, you’ll head to Jomsom Airport for your flight to Pokhara, marking your final trekking day on the Annapurna Circuit. The flight takes about 30 to 40 minutes and offers panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalaya Range, as well as the trail to Tatopani and Ghorepani.
Once in Pokhara, enjoy a free day to relax and recover. You can explore attractions like Phewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple, Devi’s Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, the World Peace Pagoda, the International Mountain Museum, Bindabasini Temple, and Mahendra Cave. A boat ride on Phewa Lake is especially rewarding if the weather is clear.
Today marks the final day of your Annapurna Circuit Trek. After waking up in Pokhara, you’ll board a tourist bus for the journey back to Kathmandu. The 205-kilometer route follows the scenic Marsyangdi and Trishuli Rivers, passing through Damauli Bazaar, Dumre Bazaar, and several picturesque villages. Along the way, enjoy views of snow-capped mountains, rolling hills, and waterfalls.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up, you’ll have time to explore Thamel or do some last-minute shopping, making the most of your final evening in Nepal.
Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange your airport transfer about three hours before departure. If you have extra time, we can organize additional side trips, or you are free to explore on your own.

Useful Information for the Annapurna Circuit Trek
Best Seasons for the Annapurna Circuit Trek
Spring (March–May)
Spring is a highly popular time for trekking the Annapurna Circuit. Expect clear skies, sunny days, and mild temperatures, although mornings and nights at higher altitudes can be chilly. This season offers lush greenery, vibrant wildflowers, aromatic pine forests, and stunning rhododendron blooms.
Autumn (October–November)
Another peak trekking season, autumn offers pleasant weather and breathtaking scenery. Trails and accommodations are busier as it coincides with Nepal’s festival season. Despite the crowds, you’ll enjoy the festive atmosphere in places like Pokhara and along the route.
Meals During the Trek
The food quality during the 12-day Annapurna Circuit Trek is excellent. We encourage trying local specialties such as dal bhat, boiled potatoes with chili sauce, Sherpa stew, and various rice curries. While every lodge also offers a range of Western dishes, traditional meals are a core part of the experience.
- Breakfast Options:
Fried/scrambled eggs, toast, pancakes, Tibetan bread, muesli, porridge, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.
- Lunch and Dinner Options:
Tomato, garlic, vegetable, and mushroom soups; fried rice; dal bhat; rice curries; noodles; macaroni; spring rolls; momos (dumplings); pizza; fried potatoes; chips; buff steak (water buffalo, sometimes yak); and lasagna.
Health Tips:
Avoid dairy, alcohol, caffeine, and hot chocolate at high altitudes. Stay hydrated with green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon, ginger tea, garlic soup (highly recommended), and fresh vegetables.
Accommodation During the Trek
You will stay in standard hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Along the trail, accommodations include lodges, guesthouses, and teahouses.
At lower altitudes, facilities are basic but comfortable, with western-style toilets. As you climb higher, expect simpler accommodations with shared bathrooms (often squat toilets). Common rooms typically have wood-burning stoves for warmth, and guesthouses provide blankets. Carry your own toilet paper for convenience.
Trek Difficulty
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is considered strenuous due to its high elevations and challenging terrain. You will reach Thorung La Pass (5,416 meters), the highest point on the trek. Snow, cold temperatures, and rocky, steep trails add to the difficulty. The trek maintains elevations above 3,000 meters for most of the journey. Proper physical and emotional preparation is essential for success.
Altitude Sickness and Prevention
As you ascend, reduced oxygen levels can cause symptoms like nausea, diarrhea, headaches, appetite loss, fatigue, and insomnia—especially above 3,000 meters. Immediate action, such as descending to lower altitudes, is crucial if symptoms appear. Always inform your guide promptly. Proper acclimatization, maintaining a steady pace, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding alcohol and smoking are key to preventing Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Ensure your policy covers emergency helicopter evacuation, medical expenses, trip cancellation, and adventure activities. Share your detailed itinerary with your insurance provider to confirm full coverage before booking.
