After breakfast, you’ll leave Kathmandu and travel 205 kilometers to Pokhara by tourist bus, the starting point of the Annapurna Mohare Hill Trek. The scenic journey takes 7 to 8 hours, passing terraced fields, small villages, and views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Lamjung Himal, and other peaks. Upon arrival in the beautiful city of Pokhara, you can either explore the Lakeside area—filled with shops, bars, and restaurants—or relax at your hotel.
For added convenience, we can arrange a direct 25-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara for an additional cost, allowing you more time to enjoy the Pokhara Valley.
After breakfast, you’ll drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor by private jeep, the starting point of the Mohare Danda Community Trek. Before setting off, you can visit the Galeshwor Lord Shiva Temple, considered one of the 15 holiest pilgrimage sites in the world according to the Srimad Bhagwat Maha Purana.
The trek begins after crossing a suspension bridge over the Kaligandaki River, leading through terraced fields and forest trails to Bans Kharka. After 2 to 3 hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at a beautiful village, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring and learning about the culture and daily life of the Magar community.
Today’s trek ascends through forests and terraced farmland, taking about 3 hours to reach the small settlement of Danda Kateri. Here, you'll enjoy lunch with scenic views of the Kaligandaki Valley. Afterward, continue with a gentle walk to Nangi Village, where you’ll stay overnight in a homestay or community lodge. This eco-lodge experience highlights how local communities collaborate to promote sustainable tourism.
Along the way, you’ll witness inspiring examples of community-led development, such as the renowned Himanchal High School—considered a model institution. You'll also see how locals make handmade paper from Lokta plants, explore a nursery for medicinal herbs, and learn about various income-generating projects supported by the community.
After a hearty breakfast at the Nangi homestay, you’ll begin a challenging 6–7 hour ascent through pristine forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks, including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m). Along the way, you may spot yaks grazing in the Kharka (pasturelands).
As you reach the summit of Mohare Danda, the panoramic vistas of the Himalayas unfold—featuring Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri. Mohare Danda is the highlight of the Annapurna Community Eco-Trek, offering unforgettable sunrise and sunset views over the mountains from your lodge.
After breakfast at Mohare Danda, you'll hike along a scenic ridge with panoramic views in all directions. The trail then descends through forested terrain, reaching Danda Karka in 2–3 hours, where you'll stop for lunch. Afterward, the route continues downhill through diverse landscapes toward Tilkot Village.
This day offers a glimpse into everyday rural life in Nepal. You'll see locals carrying bundles of grass for livestock and children heading to school with their books. You might even join villagers working in the fields. After 6–7 hours of trekking, you'll arrive in Tilkot, a charming Magar village, where you'll stay overnight in a community lodge or a local home.
After breakfast, the final day of the Mohare Danda Trek begins with a steady descent to Tiplyang Village, offering scenic views of the Kali Gandaki River. The trail takes about three hours through dense forest. From Tiplyang, you'll continue with a four-hour drive via Beni to reach Pokhara.
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara, you'll travel back to Kathmandu by tourist bus—a journey of 7 to 8 hours, depending on traffic. Along the way, enjoy views of bustling markets, scenic landscapes, and vibrant villages. Spend the evening in Kathmandu relaxing or exploring the city. To celebrate the completion of your Mohare Danda Trek, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner. For a quicker return, a 25–30-minute domestic flight to Kathmandu is available at an additional cost.
