Itinerary
After breakfast, we’ll ride tourist bus to Ramechaap from Kathmandu. At Ramechapp, you board a thrilling 30-minute scenic flight over the breathtaking Himalayan landscape before landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. After brief preparations in Lukla, you'll meet our porters and crew, then begin your Everest Base Camp Budget Trek.
Today’s trek is a short 4-hour walk to Phakding, designed to help with acclimatization. If you're interested, you can also visit nearby monasteries such as Rimishung or Pemacholing.
After breakfast, you’ll leave Phakding and head to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant mountain town. Along the way, you’ll pass through the villages of Jorsale and Monjo—Monjo being the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. From there, the trail enters the park, winding through alpine woodlands, small rivers, and dense pine and cedar forests that create a peaceful trekking atmosphere.
Namche Bazaar, perched on a mountainside, serves as the commercial center of the Khumbu region. From here, enjoy stunning views of Thamserku and Kongde Ri.
Namche is an ideal spot for acclimatization during the Budget Everest Base Camp Trek. As the main hub of the Khumbu Region, it offers access to government offices, internet cafes, ATMs, restaurants, shops, and more.
Rather than remaining inactive on rest days, it’s recommended to stay active. You can take a short hike to Thamo, Khunde, or Khumjung via the Everest View Hotel in Syangboche. Our guides will also take you to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center, where you can learn about the first Everest climbers, Sherpa culture, and the region’s flora and fauna.
From Namche, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi Valley to Phunki Thenga, where you’ll get your first clear view of Mount Everest. Continuing along the river, you’ll hike toward Tengboche, passing scenic landscapes of rivers, hills, and snow-capped peaks.
Tengboche lies at the junction of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers, surrounded by forested hills filled with rhododendrons. It is home to Tengboche Monastery, the most significant monastery in the Khumbu region.
After breakfast, your budget Everest Base Camp trek continues through the villages of Deboche, Pangboche, and Shomare. The trail winds gently through rhododendron forests, crosses the Imja Khola via a suspension bridge, and climbs past Mani stones inscribed with Buddhist prayers.
You'll reach Dingboche by crossing summer farmlands protected by a 1-kilometer-long stone wall built to shield crops from the cold Imja Valley winds. From Dingboche, enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak.
Dingboche is an ideal spot for acclimatization on your budget-friendly Everest Base Camp trek. To make the most of the day, you can hike to Nagarjun Peak or Chhukung Ri. From the summit of Nagarjun, enjoy breathtaking views of Lobuche East and West, Kangtega, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, and other surrounding peaks—perfect for capturing stunning photos.
Afterward, return to Dingboche to explore the village and learn about the local culture and traditions. You'll spend the night at the same tea house as the previous evening.
Today's budget-friendly Everest Base Camp trek begins with an ascent through the Khumbu Khola Valley toward Dughla. As the valley narrows near Dusa, you'll pass Phalung Kharka and enjoy views of Chola Lake and the striking Mt. Pumori (7,138m). The trail then descends and winds alongside a rushing stream before reaching a carved wooden bridge that leads to Dughla.
From Dughla, you'll climb the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, where memorials honor Sherpas who lost their lives on Everest. Along the way, enjoy views of Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and the Mahalangur Himal range.
Today’s trek begins early with stunning views of the Khumbu Glacier, the world’s highest. To reduce the risk of altitude sickness, you’ll ascend gradually toward Gorak Shep, a small settlement with a few teahouses. After reaching Gorak Shep, you'll continue on to Everest Base Camp—your ultimate goal on this budget-friendly trekking itinerary.
From Base Camp, enjoy breathtaking views of Khumbu Icefall, Lingtren (6,749m), Khumbutse (6,665m), and other towering Himalayan peaks. After soaking in the scenery, you'll return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Today, you’ll start early with a two-hour hike to Kala Patthar, located at the base of Mt. Pumori. Widely considered the best viewpoint on the Everest Budget Trek, Kala Patthar offers stunning panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Khumbutse, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Cholatse, Thamserku, and more—along with sweeping vistas of Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Glacier.
After soaking in the views, you’ll return to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then continue your descent along the Khumbu Glacier moraine, passing Lobuche, Dughla, Pheriche, Orsho, and Shomare before reaching Pangboche.
Today’s Everest Base Camp Budget Trek begins with a descent from Pangboche to the riverbed, crossing the Imja Khola Bridge before continuing to Tengboche. After a steep downhill section, you’ll reach the Dudh Koshi River and cross it via a suspension bridge at Phungi Thanga. The trail then passes through the villages of Tashinga and Sanasa en route to Namche Bazaar. From there, you’ll take the scenic path via Larja Dobhan to reach Monjo, with optional stops at Chhumowa, Tawa, Jorsale, and Uche Chholing Monastery.
Today marks the final day of your Budget-Friendly Everest Base Camp Trek. The trail descends steeply from Monjo, so it’s important to walk slowly and cautiously on the uneven terrain. You’ll pass through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests before reaching Phakding. From there, continue through scenic villages such as Sano Gumelha, Chhuthawa, Nurining, Thado Koshigaon, and Chheplung before arriving at your final destination—Lukla.
