Everest Experience mountain flight

If you are in Kathamndu from September to June, the Everest mountain flight with its breathtaking views of the Himalaya is an experience definately not to be missed even at the cost of US $160. This is especially so if  you do not have the time or inclination for trekking. Even while trekking you won't be getting such a complete and break taking views.

The flight made in the early morning last about one hour, and operated with Raythoon Beech 1900D, British Aerospace Jetstream-41 aircrafts. During the flight you can view eight of the ten highest mountain peaks in the world from distance of less than 20 km. The aircraft flies along the length of the mountain range in both directions giving passengers on both sides an equal opportunity to view the peaks. In addition, you are allowed to admire the view, individually from the flight deck.  A mountain profile to help you identify the peaks is handed out before departure and after the flights, passengers are given a certificate to show they have been "greeted" by Mount Everest.

There are now 4 airlines offering Mountain Flight including Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Agni Air and Nepal Airlines. A number of helicopter companies (eg Air Dynasty, Mountain Air, Fistail Air) also arrange mountain flights to see the Himalayan peaks but cost are quite high but provide stunning views.

This is actually quite an unique experience not found anywhere  else in the world, few countries have mountains as high as those in Nepal.
