Everest Base Camp Trek is arguably the most famous trekking route in the world and provides you with opportunities to take in some truly amazing views from the roof of the world. The Everest Base Camp trek also gives an insight into the lives and culture of Sherpa people who are local to the area and closely linked to the Tibetans on the other side of the summit. The views of the sunrise on the snow capped peak above the Khumbu Glacier is an unforgettable sight from the summit of Kalla Pathar. |

Trek Everest Route: We follow an ancient route that will take us through tiny villages, across high mountain passes, and through remote valleys, villages and monasteries. The views grow even more spectacular as we venture up the Dudh Kosi River to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Khumbu region at 3400m. We will spend a night next to the Thyangboche monastery (3870m), where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and Lhotse. A non-technical climb of Kala Pattar (5545m) highlights the truly spectacular panorama views of Mount Everest and many of the world's highest and most beautiful mountains. The return trek continues to delight adventurous souls with more spectacular mountain views, lush forested valleys, and opportunities to learn about the Nepalese religion and culture.
The Everest Base Camp trek require physical fitness as it demands some challenging climb but not technical and should not be beyond most competent walkers. Most of the trails has well graded paths. The Everest Base Camp is the starting point for many of the expeditions to take on the summit. Our itineraries are carefully designed to ensure you have adequate time to acclimatise comfortably, thereby enjoying the trekking experience to the full.

Namaste, Mingma Sherpa
Right from the beginning of my Everest base camp trek organization I knew I was in good hands with Green Lotus Trekking. Once I arrived in Kathmandu Mingma provided the details and supplied me with a down sleeping bag & jacket. I was planning to move onto New Delhi right after the trek and Mingma arranged for my airline ticket while I was on the trek, this all worked so seamlessly as I was on a tight schedule. I met up with my American trekking partner Pablo and before we knew it we were off to Lukla. We met up with our (Sherpa Guide) Passang and (Sherpa) Sonam at the Lukla airport. The trek was 10 days our guide Passang & Sonam provided all the answers to our many questions with lots of fun and laughter. While on the trail and at the different lodges there was total and utmost respect. It impressed me how well we were cared for. After we completed the Base camp/Kalla Patthar trek we were each given a prayer scarf with a little prayer at Lukla airport to send us on our way.
Thanx again to Passang, Sonam, Mingma and Pablo for making a lifelong dream come true, just the way it was meant to be. Green Lotus Trekking you are a first class company and I would definitely recommend you to all.

We were a family of 2 adults and 3 teenage kids from Bangalore India, who went on a trek to Everest Base camp this April 2010. EBC trek is said to be the mother of all trek's in the world. So off we went trekking!!
I should say that,we were one of the few who were lucky to find Green Lotus Trekking company in Kathmandu. Sometime during the trek,we realised that we were with the best guiding company. When I was planning for this trek and what with numerous emails between guiding co. and myself, I had stressed upon the fact that I needed a good, experinced guide, who was resourceful and patient as I had 3 children with me.
From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu till we left we were very well taken care off. Everyone from Mr.Mingma Sherpa to all the support staff were just amazing.Mr.Mingma Sherpa was kind enough and took us around the glorified Thamel area and hung around with us. We had a lovely dinner that night on our arrival. Everything from trek itinerary to domestic flight tickets to guides and porters to the minutest detail were all taken care off. The trek price was not over the top but quite reasonable which included a lot of perks too!
Our trek turned out to be simply superb because of our amazing guide Mr.Kaji Sherpa. Kaji, a local from Lukla, was perfect for a family with teenage kids. He lead us to the top of kala Pattar with great ease.Every day on the trek was well planned the previous night itself, so that the children knew what they were up to. Rest/acclamatization days were also very well planned so that we were successful in our endeavour. We were not hurried into walking faster but timely, slow ascent helped all of us to stay clear of any kind of mountain sickness. Also, Kaji took the extra effort to go beyond the routine itinerary and took us to monasteries at Tengboche and at upper Pengboche. One morning, we sat through a meditation period whereby the monks offered prayers for Everest climbers. Even the kids were awstruck from the experince. Kaji showed us how the trek to EBC was not just about climbing and eating good food but a whole lot spiritual too. At every teahouse,Kaji made sure we ate well and rested well. The kids just adored Kaji.
In the end we were so happy to reward the guide and porters quite handsomely. After all they are the ones who make this trek so memorable, joyful and so wonderful for all.
I would strongly recommend "Green Lotus Trekking company" to anybody and everybody who is in search of a good guiding company in Nepal. I myself cannot wait to return to Nepal and go on another adventure with Mr.Mingma, Mr.Kaji and co. I'm quite grateful for making our trip/trek unforgettable. THANK-YOU!!
